This weekend’s People’s Assembly of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Capricorn Region resulted in the re-election of the Chairperson and Secretary, with the rest of the leadership executive being replaced.
Ronnie Malema and Oscar Motolla reportedly stood uncontested and retained their positions as Capricorn Regional Chairperson and Regional Secretary of the party respectively when delegates met at Jack Botes hall in Polokwane on Saturday. Jerry Hine and Matlou Madiope were elected as Deputy Regional Chairperson and Deputy Regional Secretary, it was learnt. The newly elected treasurer of the region is Rufus Mphahlele.
On Monday the EFF in Capricorn Region was back to protesting against service delivery in public hospitals with a march to the healthcare facility in Botlokwa that was led by Malema. He afterwards said they have handed a memorandum of demands for quality services to the acting Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.
Malema referred to the EFF in Capricorn Region planning another march in Lebowakgomo towards the end of this month, prior to which they intended to consult with the people during a community meeting.
