BREAKING NEWS – Tour de Limpopo comes to an end

The inaugural four day international stage race, Tour de Limpopo which drew professional cyclists from as far as Serbia and Zambia, came to an end earlier today (Thursday) with South African cyclist of team BCX claiming the top three podium positions.
Steven van Heerden finished the fourth and final stage at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium first followed by his team mate Marc Pritzen in second place and David Maree in third.
Team BCX’s achievements did not stop there as their team mate Clint Hendricks, bronze cycle medallist at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games was awarded the green jersey as sprinter of the fourth stage. Van Heerden was also awarded the red jersey as most aggressive rider.
James Fourie from South African team ProTouch was awarded the polka jersey as king of the mountain while his team mate Gustav Basson claimed he white jersey as best young rider as well as the yellow jersey after finishing first in the general classification category.
