The 39-year old police Sergeant, stationed at Tshwane SAPS Academy as a facilitator, is expected to appear before the Bela Bela Magistrates Court today, 18 April, for alleged corruption.

LIMPOPO – According to provincial Hawks spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke, the suspect was arrested on 17 April 2018 following investigations by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation Unit.

“This, after the ongoing probe implicated him in a 2016 corruption case, wherein a motorist who was reportedly found transporting a substantial amount of money, allegedly lost R10 000 after he was stopped along the N1 near Pienaarsrivier by the police,” Maluleke explained.

The suspect was temporarily attached to Pienaarsrivier SAPS at the time and was in the company of a fellow Sergeant (40), who has since appeared in court and is expected back in court on 20 April 2018 for the same case.
