The African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo has thanked residents of Ward 16 of Mogalakwena Local Municipality for confirming their confidence in the leadership of the organisation yesterday’s (Wednesday) by-election that resulted in their candidate, Lesiba Petrus Maloba, emerging victorious. Maloba reportedly received 43,53% of the votes.
“This confirms the trust our communities have in us as the most reliable driver of local government development, local economic development, job creation, housing, water and sanitation delivery,” ANC Provincial Secretary Nocks Seabi said in a media release.
“Whilst we have done a lot of work in various areas of service delivery, we are alive to the reality that a lot more still needs to be done, and we invite our communities to continue working with us to speed up work on remaining challenges.
“Our councillors are full time agents of development and service delivery. We continue to instruct them to place community development at the top of their priority list.”
He said that as they prepared to sweep majority votes throughout the province in 2019, they thanked supporters in the ward and their volunteers for delivering the resounding victory.
