Man (25) arrested after gun scuffle leaves one dead & one injured

A victim was struck by a stray bullet during the scuffle

LIMPOPO – Police in Tubatse outside Burgersfort, have arrested a 25-year-old man for murder and attempted murder which occurred in the early hours of this morning, 7 April, in the Ribacross village.

According to police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngeope, the deceased and the suspect were drinking at a local tarven when a fight ensued over the firearm which was in possession of the suspect.

“During the fight, the deceased was shot and died instantly and another victim was struck in the neck by a stray bullet and taken to hospital for medical treatment,” he added.

The suspect will appear before the Praktiseer Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 April.
