Lend a hand and sponsor a kennel at the SPCA
According to Tania le Roux, Chairperson of the SPCA committee, there are 58 kennels for the dogs and 14 for the cats.
POLOKWANE – “Some of the kennels have broken wires and aside from that we want to fix up all the kennels. We also want to get cement which never cracks, to make three kennels in the second row, ready for animals with parvovirus. We specifically want this type of cement as the virus can stay in the grass for long periods, affecting other animals. We want to take out the grass and fill it with cement which can be cleaned thoroughly with the right chemicals. This will help us to prevent the virus from spreading,” she explained.

It costs R1 300 to sponsor a kennel for a year and the SPCA will erect a sign with the name of the business or individual sponsoring the kennel on the outside as testimony to sponsor’s support.
“We still have many kennels which need sponsors. We would also love to build a puppy kennel which is why we challenge residents and businesses to sponsor a kennel, or two, at the Polokwane SPCA. ”
Mall of the North is one of the first businesses to sponsor not one, but two kennels. Marketing Manager, Mari Delport, explained animals are close to their hearts. “We all love animals and we like to support the SPCA whenever we can,” she said.
