Polokwane adventurer Sarel Nong has landed in Kathmandu in Nepal earlier in the week, after having joined a group of fellow-news makers and experienced mountaineer Sibusiso Vilane to reportedly trek Mount Everest from tomorrow (Friday) onwards.
From the photos that Nong forwarded from Kathmandu, it seemed as if sightseeing was high on the group’s itinerary before setting out for the actual adventure towards the weekend. In one of the photos Vilane, who is also a motivational speaker, is seen having a discussion with a group identified as young British tourists. Nong pointed out that Vilane was frequently recognised across the city and had been spotted by the group of visitors while he and his fellow-travellers were engaged in a meal in a restaurant in the Nepalese capital.
Whereas the group would reportedly leave Vilane at the base of the highest mountain peak in about two weeks from now, he is expected to continue to summit approximately a month later without oxygen to assist only in an emergency.
