Masoga said he completed his primary education at Hlagatse Primary School and his secondary school education started at Cheuekgolo High in the neighbouring village of Lenting. He completed his matric at Mathomomayo High School in Lebowakgomo in 1994.

“In 1995, I was among the first crop of students to be admitted at the then Technikon Pretoria, Polokwane Campus and completed a diploma in human resources management. During my tenure as the programmes manager in the Limpopo Youth Commission, I was trained and received a certificate in policies for promotion of small and medium enterprises at Aichi Industrial Research Association in Japan in 2003. I further completed my B.Tech degree in human resource management with Unisa in 2010. In 2013 I received a diploma in leadership and governance at Wits and continued up to a master’s degree,” he said.

Masoga was born in Jane Furse, a small town in Sekhukhune. “My father worked as a male nurse at the Jane Furse Hospital and I grew up in the village of Marulaneng, Ga-Mphahlele.” He was the 10th child of 12 children and he became a herd boy, an experience that greatly shaped his childhood.

“In hindsight, I am always thankful that later in life my father’s livestock helped me complete my studies after he died in 1992 when I was still in high school. I will forever be indebted to my grandmother, mother and father for raising me to become the man I am today,” said the proud father, husband and public representative.
