Get your FREE rabies vaccine

To aid in eradicating the occurrence of the disease, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has set up the following schedule to offer free vaccinations

POLOKWANE – According to state veterinarian Dr Themba Malatsi, the rabies campaign is focused on keeping the dog population relatively disease free.
“There is no cure for rabies, therefore the vaccination of pets remains the best way to curb the disease. We have scheduled all the locations, times and dates where free vaccinations will be given to all cats and dogs and we urge the public to please ensure that all their pets are vaccinated. Please report any animal bite to your local hospitals and clinics.
“Any person who is bitten by a dog or cat should be rushed to the nearest health care giver, and should notify the care giver that it is a potential rabies case,” he explained.

The clinics will be set up at the following venues:
Wednesday, 28 March
– Opposite Community Hall, Nirvana 10:00 – 17:00.
– Next to Gold Coin Security Centre, Nirvana 10:00 – 17:00.
