Taxila learner, Muano Bongwe, to jet off to Spain

The Gr 8 learner made the school and province proud by attaining several medals at the World Scholars Cup competition held at Mitchell House College.

POLOKWANE – Bongwe will now be travelling to Barcelona, Spain to compete with other academics in a range of subjects.

“I went to Mitchell House for a competition called the World Scholars Cup Competition which aimed at advancing learners’ academic skills as well as affording them an opportunity to shine and make not only themselves proud but also their schools and families.

“During the challenge at Mitchell House I teamed up with two boys from Northview Christian Academy where we participated in subjects such as mathematics, sciences, debating and creative writing and arts.

“My team obtained first place in creative writing and arts and I obtained medals for mathematics, creative writing, debating and science.

Taxila Secondary School’s Gr 8 learner Muano Bongwe has been chosen to represent the school in the World Scholars Cup competition in Barcelona.

“I am very proud of myself for achieving these results and I am confident that I will do even better in Barcelona and represent my school as well as the entire country very well,” he explained.

Not only does he extend his gratitude to his family for being what he could refer to as his biggest cheerleaders, he also acknowledges the school as his support system.

“I would like to thank my principal, Tlou Caiphus Ramara for sponsoring the trip to Spain. I really appreciate this opportunity and I know that I will make everyone from here at home very proud,” he concluded.
