Truter murderer gets 20 years

Mashadi Alfred Tladi (27) accused of the murder of 79-year-old Mookgophong pensioner in 2017 was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

LIMPOPO – Tladi from Mookgophong, was apprehended a few days after the body of Magdelena Johanna Truter , fondly known as Pats, was found was found in her home in Golf Park, Mookgophong on 3 February 2017. During the incident the victim’s earrings, wedding ring, car keys and two cellphones were also taken.

Tladi appeared before the Polokwane High Court on charges of murder and theft and was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. The accused was also declared unfit to possess a firearm added Police Capt Mamphaswa Seabi.

The Provincial Police Commissioner  Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba has welcomed the sentence and congratulated the men and women in blue for their continuous hard work. “This indeed shows that the detectives are at all times working with passion, dedication and professionalism to ensure the criminals be taken off the streets for the sake of the community safety,” Genl Ledwaba concluded.
