Stanford Lake College can proudly look back on the recent 22 National Science Festival, Scifest Africa held in Grahamstown. The school’s junior team consisting of Danica Altenroxel, Muaaz Bhyat and Juan Botha, all Grade 10, was named Best Junior Team at the festival.
The senior team made up of Cailin Desmet, Yazdaan Tayob and Fatima Essa achieved an outstanding third place.
The event was established by the Gra­hams­town Foundation in 1996 to promote public awareness, understanding and appreciation of science, technology and innovation in South Africa. The theme for this year was ‘Innovation 4.0’, with reference to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which attributes technology advancement and transformation.
