Some of the main things explored over the three-day course included dealing with different types of wounds, doing basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and doing a head to toe examination on a person.

Here are some informative videos that may assist in an emergency and also help give insight on what first aid training is all about.

If a person is unconscious but is breathing and has no other life-threatening conditions, they should be placed in the recovery position. Putting someone in the recovery position will keep their airway clear and open. It also ensures that any vomit or fluid won’t cause them to choke.

A head-to-toe exam in first aid is important for identifying any physical or emotional trauma to a person.
