Destitute family gets new house from EFF

The EFF Limpopo and Capricorn Region leadership of the EFF brought a smile to the faces of the Ramaropeng family with the donation of a brand new, fully-furnished home.

POLOWANE – The handover ceremony was held on Sunday, 18 March and the ribbon to new home in Mamotintane, Sickline Mankweng was cut by the family, friends and EFF officials.

EFF Limpopo Secretary, Jossey Buthane, joined in the family’s the celebrations.

“I’m thankful and delighted at what the EFF has done for me and my family. Projects like these should be done and implemented more often to empower black people, especially the elderly. I thank the EFF for the wonderful job they have done, they have worked to help us,” Maria Ramaropeng said.

EFF Capricorn Regional Chairperson, Ronnie Malema, told Review they were pleased and satisfied to help the family and give them a newly-build, fully furnished home.

He said they heard about the family’s plight during door-to-door visits and decided to help them where they could.

“We do regular door-to-door visits in and around Polokwane to interact with our communities. We heard about Maria Ramaropeng’s plight as she had applied for an RDP house in 2014 but had not received one. As the EFF, we felt the ANC government had disappointed her and not taken her seriously, so we took it upon ourselves to build a house for her and her family,” Malema said.

Aside from the fully furnished home, the EFF also gave the family groceries.

“When we do observations and check-ups, we normally focus on child-headed families, orphanages and destitute families. We are proud to say we have done a number of good things for our communities as a party,” Malema concluded.
