Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects who allegedly shot and killed farm manager Jasper von Klause during an attack on the farm Dale outside Tom Burke at about 20:30 yesterday (Wednesday).
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe indicated that Von Klause and his partner were resting when an armed suspect entered the house and opened fire, instantly killing Von Klause and injuring his partner.
Another suspect allegedly proceeded to the farm owner’s house nearby. When the dogs started barking the owner’s son went outside to investigate and was subsequently shot by the suspect in the thigh, according to Ngoepe. He added that the injured man managed to flee into the house. It was learnt that the farm owner allegedly subsequently exited the house and started shooting at the suspect, who fled.
Ngoepe said the farm owner, his son and the other victim may not be named as yet, pending further investigations.
Anyone with information can contact investigating officer Richard Boshomane on 079 894 5501.
