Student protest – no shots fired

Although a protest action by students of the Waterberg TVET Hotel College unsettled residents of Kameeldoring Park, rumours of police having to disperse the protesters with rubber bullets are untrue.

MOKOPANE – The students gathered at the college premises where they began dancing and protesting about irregularities and equal rights on Thursday morning. Although there was police presence during the march to monitor events, the students were not aggressive and later left the college premises.
No comment had yet been received from the police nor the college relating to the protest action so the reasons are still unclear at this time but Bosveld will keep its readers posted about events.
