Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa, Tlou Dinyake visited her alma mater, Laerskool Ivypark last Friday to motivate the Senior Phase learners as part of her community outreach programme initiative.
Tlou, now a Grade 12 learner at Capricorn High School, was accompanied by relatives. She told the learners to work hard and never stop dreaming. “The future is in your hands. I want to encourage all of you to focus on your school work and study hard because education is the key to success,” she told the learners in her short speech.
Willem Opperman, acting Principal at Laerskool Ivypark said it was good to host Tlou at the school and her words of encouragement were well received by the learners. “She is our school ambassador and the learners enjoyed interacting with her. She also encouraged learners to listen to their educators and always give their best in their school work. It was good to receive her at the school again,” Opperman said.
