Two athletes from PEPPS Preparatory School are through to the South African Schools Athletics championships expected to take place in Paarl, Western Cape from tomorrow (Friday) to Saturday.
Kutloano Mosana and John-Ross Donovan, both u.11, qualified to compete at the nationals after finishing in the top three of their respective items during the Provincial Schools Athletics championships held at the University of Limpopo (UL) last Saturday.
Kutlwano finished second in the girls’ 80 and 100 m items while John-Ross won the boys’ high jump and finished second in the long jump. According to PEPPS Preparatory School head of sport Nico Loots, the school was represented by 13 athletes at the provincial event.
He said this was the first time in five years that junior athletes from the school qualified for the nationals. He said although they aspired to have more athletes making it to the national stage the school was delighted by their achievement and wished them all the best for the challenge ahead.
