LIMPOPO – According to police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngeope, the first suspect (27) was arrested a few hours after a carjacking incident which took place in a suburb in Musina.

“Four businessmen were pointed with firearms by four armed suspects before they entered their rented flats and hijacked their car. They then took them to a secluded area outside the Musina CBD,” Ngoepe explained.
The victims were searched and a number of items, including cash, were robbed before the suspects fled the scene with a get-away car.
One suspect was arrested.
During the arrest, the following items were recovered:
– Two 9 mm firearms.
– 36 rounds of ammunition.
– Cellphones.
– A Toyota Corolla.
Meanwhile, at the Beitbriedge Port of Entry, a 28-year-old man was arrested for possession of explosives which were found in his luggage.
“49 explosives were confiscated and this is the second arrest on a similar offence at the Port of Entry after another suspect was arrested in possession of 281 explosives a week ago,” Ngoepe said.
Both suspects arrested during this weekend’s operations will appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court soon.
Police investigations continue.
