LIMPOPO – According to Police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, residents from Dithabaneng village, had noticed the suspect moving around the village carrying a human skull and immediately summoned the Police. Upon arrival at his home the officers found a full human skeleton in his possession and arrested him.
“It is alleged that the suspect, from Dithabaneng village in Ga-Mphahlele area, had in January this year exhumed his late mother’s bones and taken them home with him. Furthermore the suspect would sometimes carry his mother’s skull inside the bag when going to shopping centres and banks as he believes that will protect him from any danger,” explained Ngoepe.
Other bones were also found in his possession but preliminary Police investigations have revealed them as those from cattle, he confirmed.
The real motive behind this incident is still not clear but police investigations will tell as they are still unfolding. The suspect will appear before Lebowakgomo Magistrates Court soon on a charge of violating graves, concluded Ngoepe.
