Cash-in-transit heist suspects nabbed following tip-off

Two cash-in-transit heist suspects arrested this morning in the Dennilton Policing area will make their first court appearance before the Moutse Magistrate court on Monday 5 March, confirmed the police.

LIMPOPO – These suspects, which includes a highly wanted fugitive, were arrested at around 03:00 this morning (Friday) at house at Moteti C outside Groblersdal during an Intelligent led Tactical joint operation, said POlice spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“Both suspects have been positively linked to cash-in-transit robberies which occurred in recent months in the Mankweng, Seshego, Polokwane, Tzaneen ,Motetema areas. They have also been linked to the attempted CIT robbery in the Rakgoadi Policing area outside Groblesdal on Thursday morning,” he added.

During this arrest an R4 assault rifle with 6 magazines and 66 ammunition, a 9mm firearm, more than R 200 000 cash, an  Audi A4, Tshwane Metro police uniforms and police reflector jackets were confiscated.

“Some of the recovered money notes were damaged and is believed to be part of the money robbed during a number of cash-in-transit heists robberies in the province.”

More arrests are still expected and the arrested suspects (aged 25 and 32 )will appear before Moutse Magistrates Court on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunitions and suspected stolen properties.

Later ,they will still appear before different Magistrate Courts throughout the Province on cash-in-transit heist robberies.

This is the third major breakthrough this week following the arrest of seven suspects who were terrorising residents and businesses in the Polokwane, Mankweng ,Tzaneen and Thohoyandou areas where a number of petrol stations were robbed and the drop-in safes were blown-up.
