Seven of nine Mokopanbe/Mahwelereng drug dealers in dock

Seven of the nine suspects arrested for dealing in drugs in Mokopane and Mahwelereng have appeared briefly before the Mahwelereng Magistrates Court on Monday.

LIMPOPO – The suspects were arrested during an intelligence driven operation between the Hawks’ serious organised crime unit, crime intelligence, Mahwelereng K9 and asset forfeiture unit on Friday, 23 February.

The court appearances are as follows:

1. Jimmy Kubayi (31 ) remanded in custody until 5 March for formal bail application
2. Moraka William Kekana (31 ) remanded in custody until 5 March
3.Zanele Phineas Ngobeni (34),
4.Matome Arthur Matsoku (53) and
5. Peter Madumetja Kale (32) were remanded in custody until 7 March for formal bail application
6. Tshepo Fanafana Galane (22) was remanded in custody until 28 Feb for formal bail application whilst
7. Cyril Maphosa(24) was remanded in custody until 6 March


Nine drug dealers arrested in Mokopane and Mahwelereng

LIMPOPO – According to Provincial Hawks spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke, an intelligence driven operation between the Hawks’ serious organised crime unit, crime intelligence, Mahwelereng K9 and asset forfeiture unit, on Friday, 23 February, resulted in the arrest of nine suspects between the ages of 25 and 35-years-old in Mokopane and Mahwelereng for dealing in drugs.

“The suspects have been on the Hawks’ radar since June 2016 for allegedly dealing in drugs, which includes CAT, ROCK, Nyaope and Heroine in both Mokopane and Mahwelereng areas,” Maluleke said.

During the operation, the Hawks seized two vehicles believed to have been used to transport drugs and R5 000 in cash.

Two suspects are expected to appear in the Mokopone Magistrates Court and the other seven will appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrates Court on Monday, 27 February 2018.
