Premier Stan Mathabatha’s 31-page State of the Province Address is more of a feel-good speech that mostly highlights the stuff the ruling party would want to hear.
Gains made in areas such as closing of the chapter of disclaimer audit opinions in the provincial administration, improved budgetary expenditure at municipal level, access to opportunities and basic services, a commitment to working harder to recapture lost jobs as well as infrastructure roll-out envisaged to contribute to economic growth, feature prominently.
