Muni: Pumping at Olifantspoort plant stopped due to breakdown

Estimated time for repairs to be completed is 8 hours, says the Polokwane Municipality

POLOKWANE -Pumping to the city from the Olifantspoort plant has been temporarily stopped due to a breakdown along the Specon pipeline.

According to a notification received from Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) repairs to the line is estimated to take 8 hours and residents are urged to use sparing in this time to avoid water shortages.

Areas to be affected include Zebediela, Lebowakgomo, Polokwane and surrounding areas.

The reservoir levels currently are as follows:
Potgieter at 33%,
Extension 34 at 95%,
Seshego at 7%,
Ebenezer at 126% and
Olifantspoort​ at 110%.
