However, showing someone that you love them doesn’t always have to be in the form of a gift that you bought. Making something is equally as special.
Chef Gavin Rauch has the perfect dish in mind:
What you need:
- Pears
- 1l red wine
- One cup of sugar
- Cinnamon
- Eight black pepper corns
Method:
- Cut the bottom of the pear so that it can stand up straight on the plate.
- Try to keep the stalk for decoration purposes.
- Peel the pear
- Put it in a pot and fill it with the wine and sugar.
- Add the cinnamon and pepper corns.
- Put it on the heat and let it boil.
- Make a red wine reduction
- Serve with custard and a glass of red wine.
