POLOKWANE – “Photography has always been close to my heart, but I only realised how much in July last year. That is when I began falling in love with taking photos after seeing and noticing the beautiful city we have.
“Art speaks in many ways to different people, and Itumeleng Nzimande, a local photographer, is one of those women who fully encouraged me from the word go. She lent me her camera when I was starting off as a photographer,” he explained.

Nakedi is currently pursuing an accountancy degree at the University of Limpopo.
According to Itumeleng, she saw the potential in him and knew he wouldn’t disappoint in his work.
“Everytime I viewed the photos he took, I was amazed at how he taught himself all those techniques without lots of help or assistance,” Itumeleng added.
Nakedi has also worked with a number of media companies around Polokwane.
“I have worked alongside amazing journalists from the BONUS team and other media companies, capturing moments for my gallery and website.
“It’s actually very nice to work with talented and professional people because you learn a lot of photography skills from them,” he said.
He has also worked with artists such as Tswyza, Blazey Fresh, Divine Dance Crew and has received an offer to be Fogie Fox’s personal photographer.
“Besides my studies and photography, I also host events in my community to empower the youth.
“I’m now working on a project called Limpopo’s Got Talent and it will be shaking Limpopo’s ground floors very soon,” he added.
Apart from the memories he captures through his lens, he adds that photography is a passion which sets him free.
“It’s like another world I only visit when I’m on set, and it’s a peaceful one. Through photography I also understand the scripture in the Bible, Isaiah 45:7.
“I understand that as a photographer I have to be a patient individual, should aim on going forward, never sleep on my mind, allow it to brainstorm those concepts and do it for the love of art rather than money.
“Lastly know that if money is meant for you, you’ll get it by working smart,” he concluded.
