LIMPOPO – According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the girl was on her way to a spaza shop when the suspect grabbed her and raped her.

The girl then reported the rape to her mother, upon arriving home, who then reported it to the police.
“The police reacted swiftly and initial investigations ensued until the suspect was positively identified and arrested,” Ngoepe explained.
The South African Police Service in Limpopo have condemned the rape and have urged communities to consider any child as their own and increase child care, rather than harming them.
“Child safety is a societal responsibility and all communities are encouraged to join hands with the police in their endeavor to protect children from any form of abuse, including rape,” Ngoepe concluded.
