[TAKE NOTE] Planned weekend power outage will affect Thornhill and surrounding areas

The power outage will take place on 11 February from 05:00 am to 11:00 am

POLOKWANE – According to the Polokwane Municipality, the planned power outage is due to emergency repairs to be done on the 66KV line between the Delta and Lota substations.

“Currently, only one line is running and will pose a risk if the insulators are not repaired urgentl,” a statement read.

The following areas will be affected at the Lota substation:

  • Thornhill Mall and Thornhill Village.
  • Northview Estate, Waterberry Estate and Eagle Crest.
  • Savannah Mall, Pholoso Hospital and Serala View.
  • The 10111 Police Centre, Gardenia Street, part of Boshoff Street, De Wet Street, Jasmyn Street, Protea Street, Westria Street, Mohlopi Street, part of Marshall Street, part of McDonald Street and part of Esrasmus Street.

“Residents and businesses are urged to switch off their electrical appliances to avoid any damage before the emergency repairs start. We further request that residents make necessary arrangements and planning ahead of the outage,’ the municipality urged.

The municipality has apologised, in advance, for any inconveniences caused.
