Local Toddler School to offer something different in Polokwane

According to Local Toddler Pre-primary Directors Henriette Grobler and her daughter Twané Grobler, they established this school because they wanted to do something different.

POLOKWANE – A child is a precious gift and parents often struggle to find the best pre-primary school for their little one.

Thanks to Local Toddler Pre-primary, parents will now have a more broadened variety.

“We wanted to open a unique school that is a little different to others, one that looks different and is also eco-friendly. We also have the necessary security, ensuring that parents can leave their toddlers with us with complete peace of mind,”

“We believe that it is important that a child grows within their age and we offer a play-based environment where a child will be safe and loved,” she explained.

The preschool has already employed qualified teachers and assistants, eager to help. Most of the teachers have also completed a course in first aid while the others are in the process of doing so.

Local Toddler Pre-primary will be open from 07:00 until 17:00 daily, inclusive of a range of programmes such as life skills, art and language.

The school will also offer make-and-bake classes on a weekly basis and can currently accommodate 20 toddlers per class for the available three classes.

“We will also offer a holiday programme. We plan to create a garden where the children can plant their own vegetables and literally see the process of growth. We want to teach them how to think green,” Twané explained.

This will also enable the centre to provide the toddlers with produce from their own garden, encouraging them to lead a healthier lifestyle. In addition to the programmes, the school will also have a tuck shop where toddlers will be taught the value of money and trade.

As a parent’s involvement in a child’s development is a crucial one, the school will host a variety of parent nights in order to give parents the ongoing opportunity to adequately assess their child’s development.

“We are very focused on the child’s emotional well-being. There will be no televisions in the school and we will not tolerate any form of bullying,” Henriette explained.
