Did you know you can borrow a puzzle from Savannah Mall’s Puzzle Library?

The mall has up to 150 puzzles that the public can borrow.

POLOKWANE – When you hear the word ‘puzzle’, thoughts about how to get through it will usually cross your mind, but the definition of puzzle is a game, toy, or problem designed to test ingenuity or knowledge.

A few years ago, a puzzle library initiative was started by Savannah Mall management where people can borrow puzzles.

Receptionist at Savannah Mall, Vicky Nkomo, says the public can borrow the puzzles for three weeks before bringing it back.

“It is a free service and although it was started for the elderly, anyone can come and borrow puzzles. We have mothers with young children frequently visiting us,” she told Review.

Since patterning is the foundation of reading, math and logic skills, puzzle building is one of the best brain building activities for developing reading, math and logic skills. They also develop problem solving skills and individual success and achievement.

Nkomo says the library has up to 150 puzzles but she had urges the public to donate more puzzles.

“When you build a puzzle, it helps you to think and focus. It sometimes helps you with the challenges of life.”
