Bring your A-game, get ready

Whether you’re a supporter of the Vodacom Bulls or the Cell C Sharks, or just a rugby fan in general, don’t miss the action at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on 27 January.
The city will play host to the Super Rugby warm-up match between the Vodacom Bulls and the Cell C Sharks and the Limpopo Blue Bulls Rugby Union said everything is well underway.
Tickets for this clash will be available from Computicket and the rugby union said they might be available from as early as this week. Tickets will also be sold on 26 January from 14:30 at a sales point at the municipal offices in the extension of Burger Street behind Virgin Active gymnasium.
If you miss these opportunities, tickets will also be sold on match day from 07:30 at the ticket sales point near the main entrance of the stadium. Tickets are priced at R100 for adults (no seats reserved, first come first served basis) and R30 for scholars.
The boxes at the stadium are also selling like hot cakes, according to the rugby union. There are still a few available at R12 000 each, two in the west wing and eight on the east wing.
This match forms part of the money raising initiatives for the Mayoral Bursary Fund and a gala dinner will be held on Friday, 26 January with the players from the two teams in attendance. Tables are available at R2 500 and will include one of the players as guest.
The venue for the gala dinner will be announced closer to the day.
The main warm-up match will kick off at 18:00 and will be preceded by a full rugby programme for matches between local players from 12:00.
Programme:
• 12:00 – 12:50 Laerskool Pietersburg vs Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord (u/10 junior boys).
• 13:00 – 14:20 University of Venda vs University of Limpopo (senior women).
• 14:30 – 15:20 Laerskool Pietersburg vs Laerskool Pietersburg-Noord (u/13 junior boys).
• 15:30 – 17:00 Northam Rhinos vs Goldwagen Noordelikes (senior clubs).
• 18:00 – Vodacom Bulls vs Cell C Sharks.
Municipal Spokesperson, Disree Manayne, said it was all systems go for the match during a municipal meeting on Tuesday, 9 January.
“I encourage everyone to come and support this mayoral charity event to raise money which will assist needy and deserving learners to further their studies,” she said.
