Limpopo police constable arrested for corruption

LIMPOPO: According to Provincial Hawks spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke, members of the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Unit arrested the constable for alleged corruption.

“The complainant alleged that the suspect entered into his spaza shop and demanded money for operating a shop without a license. The complainant further alleged that the suspect forcefully took R400 from the shop and left,” Maluleke explained.

A case of corruption has been opened at the Mahwelereng police station and it was referred to the Hawks for further investigation.

“The suspect was arrested on Thursday, 25 January, following investigation by the Hawks and he is expected to appear before the Mokerong Magistrate Court today, to face a corruption charge,” Maluleke concluded.
