Future optometrist hopes to serve as an inspiration

Having received three distinctions in Gr 12 last year, Bridle Molomo from Westenburg says that learners just need to study smart and hard.

POLOKWANE – “People my age should rather stress about school work rather than socialising with friends as education, I strongly believe, is the key to success. Where I come from, here in Westenburg it is only by Gods grace and working hard, that one can make it to Gr 12 and pass.I was one of those fortunate enough to make it this far and I am very proud of myself,” he said when he spoke to REVIEW.

The 19-year-old will be studying towards a Bachelor of Optometry with the University of Limpopo and says he has a passion for learning about the human body.

Optometry was his first choice as he says he wants to help people with visual impairments to see better.

“It pains me to see people struggling to read and write, so my plan includes making their lives a little better, I don’t know how yet, but I am certain I will figure it out.”

Bridle says he obtained three distinctions in Life Sciences, Geography and Physical Science and with that, he enrolled for a Bsc in Optometry.

“I hope that I serve as inspiration for my peers and those Gr 12 learners this year to work hard and never stop believing in themselves, as thoughts do become manifestations in reality so one must always think positive at all times,” he concluded.
