[VOX] PCS Gr 1’s share their excitement to learn

Full of enthusiasm and a hunger to learn, Review visited Pietersburg Comprehensive School to speak to a few Gr 1’s on what they’re looking forward to most as they take on their first year of school.

POLOKWANE – With crisp new uniforms, polished school shoes and bags that are bigger than some of them, Gr 1’s across the country started their school careers this week.

Full of enthusiasm and a hunger to learn, Review visited Pietersburg Comprehensive School to speak to a few Gr 1’s on what they’re looking forward to most as they take on their first year of school.

Mothana Siyma: “I want to learn more about cars and how to drive very fast and win everybody, my teacher will help me.”

Keorapetse Maremane: “I want to learn how to read so that I can also look smart like the big kids.”

Gr 1 Teacher- Johannah Manthata together with Gr 1 learners Tumisho Mogashao, Thsepiso Mphaltlele and Keorapetse Maremane.

Tumisho Mogashao: “I want to learn about Computers and also be able to press the right buttons.”

Thsepiso Mphaltlele: “My teacher looks very clever and I want her to teach me to be a Doctor one day, I want to know what they know.”

Keorapetse Maremane: “This school must tach me to know about fires. I want to be clever and take out fires.”

Peakanyo Mojapelo: “My teacher looks very smart. I want to learn about school things and I like my lunchbox very much.”

Maghatho Machaka: “This is a nice school and have such a big playground. I want to make new friends and learn to write my own name.”
