Polokwane Municipality is assisting the Police to provide information regarding the identity of a woman that is allegedly involved in a scam requesting payment for jobs and tenders available from the municipality.
This follows after the municipality issued a warning to alert the public about the scam currently doing the rounds in the city.
Disree Manyane, Stakeholder Relations Officer of the municipality, said in a media release that a woman, who is known to the municipality, poses as Executive Mayor Thembi Nkadimeng and requests job seekers and prospective service providers to deposit money in an account in order to secure jobs or tenders.
Manyane said that the matter was brought to the attention of the municipality by members of the public and confirmed that a case was opened with the Police.
