BREAKING NEWS – Two applicants hit by a car at Capricorn College for TVET

The Police in Polokwane have launched a manhunt for a suspected hit-and-run driver who allegedly ran over two persons during a stampede of aspirant students at te Pololwane campus of the Capricorn College for TVET this morning (Thursday).
Information released by the Police point to a white vehicle with the registration number ‘CMX 390 L’ which had allegedly run over two persons walking in the vicinity of the college premises. One of them suffered serious injuries. It is alleged that the incident occurred after members of a private security company in charge of access control at the college opened the gates to allow entry to the multitudes of the awaiting applicants for registration.
“A stampede ensued as the applicants were jostling for access, resulting in serious injury to Tshepo Malatjie (22) from Tzaneen and the further collapsing of five other applicants aged between 19 and 26 years. The injured were transported to Pietersburg Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but Malatjie’s condition is not yet known at the stage,” the statement read.  
It is reported that the situation at the college has returned to normal after the college management decided to suspend the registration process until Monday at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
