Manhunt launched for suspects following murder of missing businessman in Letsitele

Police in Letsitele outside Tzaneen have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the killing of Salim Vali Patel (44) and his assistant, Victor Baloyi (31).

LIMPOPO – Patel and Baloyi were reported missing on 27 December 2017.

According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the two deceased were from Giyani to Nwajaheni in the Letsitele policing area, but they never arrived home and later it was found that their vehicle was hijacked.

“The matter was reported to the police and a joint search operation ensued until their lifeless bodies were found on 28 December, with signs of brutal assault, in the bushes between Morudjie and Mavele villages outside Tzaneen.

Ongoing police investigations will tell what the motive behind their murder was.
