Don’t have the flair for wrapping gifts? Let the SPCA wrap it for you

This charity project will be running at the Mall of The North until Sunday, 24 December

POLOKWANE – When it comes to the festive season, the less fortunate are at times forgotten, this includes the animals at the SPCA.

“We rely heavily on donations in order to take care of all the animals. At times people are unaware of just how many expenses there are to take care of these animals. These expenses include food, cleaning supplies, salaries, water and electricity.

“As a non-profit organisation, donations play a big role in enabling us to provide a home for the animals that have been abandoned, abused and neglected as well as strays or animals surrendered to us due to their owners being unable to care for them any longer,” said Selma Landman, SPCA committee member.

The management of Mall of The North approached the SPCA with the idea of opening a present wrapping station and provided all the wrapping paper, scissors and sellotape. All the proceeds will be donated to the SPCA.

Jackie Rademeyer and her daughter, Angelique, are manning the gift wrapping station and told Review they are both volunteers at the SPCA.

She explained they will take turns wrapping the gifts, adding she couldn’t wait to see the animals’ reactions when they received Christmas gifts from the proceeds.

This charity project will be running at the Mall of The North until Sunday, 24 December, and all members, personnel and volunteers of the Polokwane SPCA expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards Mall of The North for the opportunity and assistance.

“These donations help to make various animals happier and heartier,” Selma concluded. For information, contact Selma at 083 448 2170.
