PSIRA opens their regional offices in Polokwane
The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) officially opened their new regional offices in Polokwane after struggling with a small office which was unable to cater to the whole of Limpopo.
POLOKWANE – PSIRA Director, Manabela Chauke, and Deputy Director Law Enforcement, Israel Kgamanyane, held the official handover on Monday, 11 December.

As the Limpopo office was unable to address all the queries from the province, it led to an influx in the number of cases sent to the Centurion and Pretoria offices to register and renew certificates.
The new Limpopo PSIRA regional office is situated at 80 Hans van Rensburg Street and as part of PSIRA’s mandate regarding the new offices, they aim to expand their capacity to serve and provide effective service to the community.

Chauke explained the new offices in Polokwane will ensure the company’s services will be accessible across Limpopo and encouraged residents to make use of them.
“We are looking to partner with other state-owned entities such as the Post Office to make sure our people can collect their certificates at their closest post offices to help streamline the process,” he said.
Limpopo Legislature Deputy Speaker, Lehlogonolo Masoga, urged PSIRA to work hard, deliver quality services and to bring forth corrupt-free services.
“Big businesses in the industry should stop abusing their employees. When they make money they should pay the officers on time,” Masoga added.
Apart from making the office accessible to the communities, Chauke stated that the office will be introducing a new PSIRA App which will enable people to register and renew their documents electronically, which will result in a reduced turnaround time as opposed to it being done manually.
