Westenburg and Nirvana’s pools remain closed despite warmer weather

As the blazing summer heat continues to pelt down in Limpopo, many parents and residents in the city are left having to sweat it out.

Westenburg and Nirvana’s pools are currently closed and the city swimming pool was reportedly closed for a few days but is now open to the public.

With the school holiday and festive season in our midst, the city’s residents are now puzzled as to what they can do or entertain their children with as they long for a much deserved cool dip in the pool.

According to Municipal Spokesperson Disree Manyane, the city and Seshego pools are open to the public. “The Westenburg and Nirvana pools are currently closed,” she added.

When BONUS asked her what the problem was, she explained that the municipality had just advertised a tender for the repair and maintenance of all the municipal pools.

“The two pools are closed due to pumps which aren’t functioning, we are also awaiting the finalisation of the supply chain processes which are unfolding to repair the closed pools,” she explained.

She also added that the pools will be reopened as soon as a contractor has been appointed and new pumps installed at the two swimming pools. The public will be informed on the opening.

“We apologise for any inconveniences caused to the public and urge them to be patient,” she concluded.
