LIMPOPO – Ramathuba said a disaster and emergency plan was developed by hospital management because of the high accident figures, the emergency plan will be carried out until 12 January.
“The emergency services for the route on the N1 from Modimolle to Musina have 33 ambulances and 10 rescue teams with a helicopter on the roads around the clock. I inspected the ambulances and can confirm they are equipped and ready,” she said.
Ramathuba added these ambulances will not be stationed at the hospitals but will be on the road stationed at hot spots to speed up the response time in case of emergencies.
“I assure road users that emergency services, facilities and hospitals are ready for the festive season for any disaster or emergency.
“People’s lives are at stake and we will do everything in our power to save lives.”
