These two cousins from Flora Park are the founders of EyeListen Media.

They both hold qualifications from the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance (AFDA) and want to become leaders in the industry by providing creative and innovative audio visual communications services.

“I have always had a passion for the media industry, especially regarding motion pictures and cinematography, which is why I decided to pursue a qualification in motion pictures after matric. I am a naturally patriotic and a creative person with an ability to address social issues on audio-visual communications platforms,” Tumelo said.

Thabo shares his cousin’s sentiments. “I’ve always had a passion for filmmaking and telling people’s stories through film as well as addressing social ills which affect the community,” he said. Their plan is to expand their company nation wide and develop a strong client base. “We realise the importance of giving back to the community. We see helping them as an investment in our province’s and the country’s future. We know first hand how tough it can get in this industry which is often looked down on and not taken seriously. I believe this is why there isn’t really a platform for such a profession to be pursued here at home,” Tumelo added. EyeListen Media offers services such as corporate events footage, photography as well as creating short summary clips that can be distributed on various platforms to engage with targeted markets or audiences.
