[UPDATE] Missing two-year-old girl found dead in Witpoort

This, after she was reported missing by her parents on Sunday, 3 December.

LIMPOPO – Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed Ntlaleng Kgola was found dead on Monday afternoon.

“Kgola, from Emelman village, was found dead at a distance away from the missing spot this afternoon. She was found by search and rescue teams,” he concluded.


LIMPOPO – According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, a couple were walking in the bushes, with their two and four-year-old daughters, on their way home from town.

Along the way, the couple decided to rest under a tree but ended up falling asleep.

“When they woke up, at around 19:00, they found the two-year-old child missing and reported the matter to the police. A search ensued with the search team composing of Witpoort Saps members, the Provincial search and rescue unit, Air Wing and the Lephalale Cluster K9 Unit,” Ngoepe explained.

Ngoepe says preliminary search operation findings show the possible victim’s foot prints a distance away from the missing point, which are being followed.

The victim was wearing an orange T-shirt and tight orange trousers.

Anyone who can assist the police with information on the whereabouts of the victim is urged to contact Lt Colonel Lucas Mabote at 082 469 1353; the crime stop number 0860010111; the crime line sms 32211 or the nearest police station.

“The South African Police Service are highly concerned about the continuous trend of poor child care by some parents/guardians in a number of areas in Limpopo,” Ngoepe says.

This was not the only incident as police are investigating a case of inquest, after an eight-year-old drowned in a local swimming pool in the Senwamokgope Township in Sekgosese, Giyani.

“It is alleged that the deceased, Tsholofelo Lekukela from Ga-Mohokong village in Bolobedu outside Tzaneen, was on a school tour for a year end celebration when she drowned.

No foul play is suspected at this stage and police investigations continue.
