Traffic circle to ease congestion in Vermikuliet Street?

The municipality say processes to construct a circle at the intersection of Vermikuliet and Mika Street have been internally initiated.

POLOKWANE – Municipal Spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo, says the circle will significantly reduce traffic congestion.

This comes after growing impatience and a disregard for the rules of the road which is contributing to the number of accidents on the corner of Vermikuliet and Mika Street during peak traffic hours.

Despite this intersection occurring right in front of the Traffic Department, and numerous complaints to the municipality, the problem still persists.

“This will not happen overnight, however, as financial resources are required for such a capital project.

“Motorists are urged to exercise caution and patience during peak hours as it remains their responsibility to ensure it is safe before crossing an intersection,” Mothapo commented.
