MOKOPANE – One of the three suspects is still at large and his whereabouts are unknown.
“The information at our disposal, is that three suspects went to the house and demanded the keys to the safe.
“The suspects then robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash and shot him.
Ramashala sustained serious injuries and died in hospital,” Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, explained.
According to Mojapelo two of the three suspects were arrested when they were reportedly planning on fleeing.
Upon the arrest, the police found the money stolen from the deceased’s house in their possession as well as the firearm used during the robbery.
“It later transpired that the same firearm was reported stolen from the house of the deceased during the first week of November.”
Bosveld heard from a confidential source, very close to the Ramashala family, that Ramashala in his last moments, had been fearing for his life due to the prior developments.
According to the source, Ramashala confided in him with regards to his stolen firearm and also shared his fears with regards to his life.
“It is alleged that the suspects gained access to the house with a key.
“According to the source, Ramashala confided in him, telling him that he believes that he is going to get killed with his own gun,” the source revealed to Bosveld.
The detained suspects appeared in the Mokerong Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 28 November on charges of murder and house robbery.
They were remanded in custody until their next appearance on Friday, 1 December.
According to the police, the third suspect, who is still at large, was employed by the deceased.
