Polokwane, Seshego, Westenburg & Ivy park to be affected by another water shortage

A 12 hour shut down will be implemented for maintenance on the Olifantspoort plant

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says it received a notification from Lepelle Northern Water that operations were stopped at the Olifantspoort plant to perform maintenance on the pumps.

“The shutdown will be for about 12 hours and will affect all areas in the city and Seshego. The estimated time for maintenance to be completed is 20h00 this evening.”

Areas to be affected include, Polokwane, Seshego , Ivy Park, Westernburg, Zebediela and Lebowakgomo.

The municipality have advised residents to use water sparingly to avoid serious shortages as reservoir levels are too low.

“The municipality will arrange water tankers for areas that are affected. We apologise for the unexpected inconvenience.”
