Gr12’s leave legacy for less privileged

The Gr 12’s from Flora Park Comprehensive High School teamed up to donate their school shoes to the less privileged after they wrote their final exam paper.

POLOKWANE – “We realised that most matric learners are always quick to think about their final day in high school and often forget about the other learners who come from less privileged backgrounds and cannot afford something as simple as school shoes or a tie. This is why we decided to donate our school shoes, blazers and ties to those who cannot afford it. We also encourage other Gr 12 learners to join in this initiative and help make a difference in other people’s lifes,” said Kgothatso Ntabane, President of the school.

Review spoke to some of the learners to find out how they feel about completing their high school careers.

Sesina Ntombi Thobakgale said she feels relieved to be done with high school. “I feel great and honoured that I am ending my high school career on a high note and to have donated my school shoes to learners who are in need of them. I wish them all the best for next year,” she said.

Francinah Setati shared Sesina’s sentiments and said she wished all Gr 12 learners would follow their example instead of throwing away their old school uniforms.
