‘Antifreeze heals my congregants’

The prophet famously dubbed as ‘the dettol prophet’ said through God’s power he can turn antifreeze into an energy drink or any soft drink his congregants enjoy drinking.

LIMPOPO – Prophet Rufus Phala of AK Spiritual Christian Church at Makotopong outside Polokwane recently introduced this new liquid he uses to ‘heal’ his church members.

Phala told CV during an interview with the man on Sunday that his congregants willingly wanted to taste the car engine cleaner when he introduced it to them.

“My antifreeze heals my people and it seems to work a lot better than antiseptic liquid,” he said.

He added that several members of his church were ill and he believed they were possessed by a satanic spirit.

“I began to preach the gospel and God told me the antifreeze is the only thing I can use to help heal them, which I didn’t hesitate to do as I believe in miracles.

“Although antifreeze is used to cool down car engines, it brings healing and peace into my church. Some of the congregants at my church were complaining saying their digestive systems felt as though they were on fire like overheated car engines, which is why God spoke to me about the antifreeze,” explained Phala.

He further said his congregants told him the liquid tasted good and heals them, therefore they would love to consume it during every service.

“I also drank it and miracles happened in my life after.

There is a scripture that says: “Miracles and wonders shall follow those who believe,” said Phala.

He further explained that alcoholics who attend his services never think of drinking beer again after he gives them ‘the holy antifreeze’.

“What I am doing is simply acting on the word from God and I should not be judged for this,” he added.

He said his church currently has five branches in the province and they’re growing steadily.

Some of Prophet Rufus Phala’s congregants seem to be willing participants in consuming the pastor’s new “healing remedy” during the church service.

Approached for comment, Health Spokesperson, Thabiso Teffo, said liquids such as antifreeze are a danger to people’s health.

“We urge the public to refrain from attending such churches and being brainwashed.

What this prophet is doing is utterly disgraceful and he will face the full might of the law should any of his congregants be hospitalised or, worst of all, die because of this,” explained Teffo.

No cases have been opened by churchgoers.

Several prophets have in recent times made headlines after using a variety of detergents during sermons, in the hope of ‘healing powers’.
