Farmer killed during farm attack in Hoedspruit

The farmer enquired what three armed men wanted on his farm when they shot him

LIMPOPO – Police in Hoedspruit, outside Phalaborwa are searching for three unknown suspects connected to the farm attack which occurred on Sunday night.

According to police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the farmer and his daughter went outside to lock the gate. When they went back to the house, they noticed three unknown armed men standing next to the house.

“When the farmer enquired on what do they want, without answering him, they shot him to death and his daughter survived unharmed,” Ngoepe explained.

The deceased was identified Christo Redelinghys (60).

“At this stage, the motive behind the attack is unclear because there is no indication of any robbed item from the house, but ongoing police investigations will tell.”

No arrests have been made as yet.
