The South African Local Government Association (Salga) Limpopo was due to host its two-day Provincial Members Assembly (PMA) at Karibu Leisure Resort from yesterday (Wednesday).
The focus of the event is to adopt a provincial plan of action, business plan and budget, to consider reports of provincial working groups and oversight bodies and to review Salga’s financial performance.
The event is attended by politicians and administrators from all 27 the province’s municipalities as well as key stakeholders from sector departments and professional bodies. Thembi Nkadimeng, Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality and Chairperson of Salga Limpopo is officiating and the key note address is scheduled to be delivered by Premier Stan Mathabatha.
Panel discussions on topics like ‘Sustainable Inclusive Economic Growth and Realised Spatial Transformation’, ‘Good Governance and Resilient Municipal Institutions’, as well as ‘Financial Sustainability of Local Government and Greater Fiscal Equity’ will complement the programme.
The event is scheduled to conclude with the adoption of a PMA declaration.
